Psalm 37:16 – “Better is the little that the righteous has than the abundance of many wicked.” A key component of Christianity is the understanding that worldly wealth does not create riches in heaven. Jesus made clear that, if anything, wealth was a hindrance to the kingdom of heaven (Mark 10:25). That being said, have you ever tried to understand the relation of the church to the civil government in terms of monetary value? For me, the comparison is eye opening. In the year 2020, religious organizations received approximately $128.2 billion in donations/tithes. IF that seems like a lot, remember that in the context of a budget, religious organizations are about 1.4% of the US government’s size.
The strategy is clear. The expansion of the government is a key element in making a new morality of the State. These governmental idolaters make the government larger and larger, until it subsumes all other religions. We would be wise to remember: Christianity does not rely on wealth, but the religion of State does.
