Salvation Army: Racism Guide (Excerpt)

In November of 2021, supporters of the Salvation Army started withdrawing their support after the release of the “Let’s Talk About Racism” study guide. The Salvation army had already been suspected of “going woke” in 2017 with their international position statement. After releasing this voluntary study guide, the true intentions became obvious. The guide itself was brimming with Critical theory and anti-White rhetoric. The racism study guide suggested authors such as Ibram Kendi, James Cone, and Eric Mason – the author of Woke Church. After removing the guide due to public backlash, the Salvation Army Spokesperson stated: “The confusion was leading to disrespectful discourse, which distracts from our mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human need in His name without discrimination.”[mfn]https://wpde.com/news/nation-world/salvation-army-withdraws-controversial-lets-talk-about-racism-guide[/mfn]

It is obvious that the confusion was not about this guide. The confusion was not about the supposed “disrespectful discourse.” The only confusion was about whether or not the Salvation Army is still a Christian organization.
