Transgenderism And Violence – A Truly Monstrous Narrative

On March 27, 2023, a woman identifying as a transgender gay man shot and killed six Christians in a school building. The school was associated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and was specifically targeted by the shooter due to the rejection of her transgender identity. Audrey Hale was shot and killed by the responding Nashville police officers.

While Christians across the country mourned the loss of these six innocent lives, other communities had a different story to tell. Prior to this tragic event, LGBT+ activists had been labeling conservative Christians as “hate groups,” claiming that the fight against bigotry was a fight for survival. After the shooting, publicly supporting Christians in their hour of mourning meant betraying the LGBT+ community and losing the victimhood narrative. After all, the rhetoric leading up to this point had framed the battle against Christian ethics as a matter of life and death. So instead of supporting the “Christian bigots,” pro-LGBT+ activists attempted to subvert the tragedy for their own ends, advocating for far-Left gun control measures. Society had reached a new level of deterioration.

“The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
    and perverted speech I hate.”

Proverbs 8:13

While many Christians were frustrated with the narrative-distorting lies, others began to grasp the social and political ramifications of this atrocity. In the past, some people assumed that the violent nature of transexuals and sodomites could be contained by encouraging them to “keep it in the bedroom.” This rhetorical coping strategy turned out to be useless as public support for confrontational sexual depravity became mainstream. In light of recent events, recognizing the aggressive nature of sexual degenerates should lead us to be more cautious of the associated malice and impending violence. The Bible reminds us that severely perverted sexual behavior will result in God giving them over to a “reprobate mind” (Romans 1:28). We would do well to heed this warning.

With this in mind, I think it may be helpful to revisit the story behind the Covenant shooting. Taking a broad look at the timeline helps us see the bigger picture and why controlling the oppression narrative matters. When LGBT+ activists are no longer perceived as standing up for victims but rightly perceived as degeneracy enablers, the rhetoric around the Covenant shooting becomes truly monstrous.
